BWT Alpine F1 Team and Canel’s announce new multi-year partnership

BWT Alpine F1 Team is delighted to announce a multi-year partnership with Mexican confectionary firm Canel’s. Building on a relationship that started more than seven years ago, Canel’s will continue to be a loyal Confectionary Partner for the forthcoming seasons.

Canel’s said: “Our family business has a long history of involvement in sports and we understood the potential of a Formula 1 partnership as soon as Grand Prix racing returned to Mexico City in 2015. Our association with BWT Alpine F1 Team began the following year and has continued to bring to our company significant brand equity. We are now delighted to confirm our commitment with a multi-year plan and to continue this journey of shared values and passion.”

BWT Alpine F1 Team competes in the FIA Formula One World Championship with race winner Esteban Ocon and double world champion Fernando Alonso. Led by Laurent Rossi, in its first year of competition in 2021 the team secured one race win at the Hungarian Grand Prix and one podium in the Qatar Grand Prix to finish fifth in the teams’ championship. Alpine is the French-style sports car brand founded in 1955 by Jean Rédélé and is now the dedicated brand for innovative, authentic and exclusive sports cars of the Renault Group. A wider Business Unit allows Alpine to benefit from the heritage and know-how of its historic Dieppe factory and the engineering expertise of BWT Alpine F1 Team, Alpine Racing and Alpine Cars teams.

 

Canel's is a diverse, privately held, Mexican enterprise which has grown from a confectionary business. Established in 1925, San Luis Potosí, today Canel’s operates across confectionary, real estate, hotel and storage. The confectionary business remains central within the group, with the confectionary division’s main product line being chewing gum. It also manufactures 150 different products, including: soft and hard candies, fruit chews, milk caramel chews, toffees, lollipops, jelly beans and more. The manufacturing site comprises of more than 100,000m squared, from where Canel’s distribute their products to both North and South American markets and 30 more countries worldwide.
