Bridging art and technology

Arne Quinze constantly looks for new forms of expression to bring a new dimension to his work. With this collaboration, perceived as a "step into the future", the artist wanted to express the union between nature and technology and reveal Alpine's technology natural and organic strength.

Based on Alpine's DNA of agility and lightweight, the sculpture symbolizes the materialization of a dreamed future of the automobile: to glide through the air, without wheels, as fast as light. By integrating moving lightning bolts into the piece, the artist interprets the blurring and speed feelings existing during a race, until the driver becomes one with the car and its technology. For Arne Quinze, when the car is in motion, it comes alive and becomes almost vegetal. A form of harmony with nature emerges.

The aluminium structure with LEDs emanating from the Alpine, mounted on a floating podium to levitate it, represents a dreamlike manifestation of the technology behind the car's existence. It illustrates the speed of light and all the opportunities for expansion of the Alpine A110, while the absence of wheels epitomises the symbiosis with the environment and nature.

New artistic inspiration for Alpine

This artistic collaboration with Arne Quinze reflects Alpine's desire to contribute to the current art scene. For the third consecutive year, Alpine is exhibiting an original work at Art Paris, the world's leading event for modern and contemporary art. In 2022, the Alpine A110 Sastruga, created with the Obvious collective, bridged the gap between the brand's heritage and modernity by using Artificial Intelligence and algorithms to create an original and visionary art car. In 2021, the collaboration with Felipe Pantone highlighted the interaction between colour and Alpine's excellence through a paint job created entirely by hand by the artist.

"For this third collaboration at Art Paris, Arne Quinze has succeeded in bringing together technique and creation in a sensational art car taking us into a fantasy future. His work resonates with our ambition to create a car that is at one with movement. It is what our partnership with Art Paris is all about: inspiring us by supporting and contributing to the influence of contemporary art talent", Laurent Rossi, Alpine CEO.

"This piece is the result of an exciting dialogue with Alpine to imagine a new form representing what, for me, symbolises the magic of racing: speed and the fusion between the driver and his car, between man and technology, between speed and nature. I am convinced that it is by looking at nature that we find the most technical solutions, and that is what I wanted to show here", Arne Quinze.

"What is striking about Arne's work is the constant search for movement and the desire to be at one with nature. When I look at the A110 Metamorphosis, I am struck by the impression of weightlessness that emanates from it. The car gives the impression that it is levitating. This dizzying creation is truly representative of the agility and lightweight values in the Alpine brand’s DNA", Antony Villain, Alpine Design Director.
