  • The now world-famous, characteristic pink of the BWT brand will be visible on the racing cars of all Alpine Academy drivers as well as their race suits, team kit and water bottles used trackside
  • BWT will also supply the Alpine Academy with BWT filter technologies for the sustainable use of water

04 March 2023

BWT and Alpine have decided to expand their strategic collaboration beyond Formula 1 and into the Alpine Academy, where the team’s title partner will support its talented young driver line-up.

In addition to Formula 1, BWT will now also join together with Alpine Academy’s nine young drivers who compete in junior racing categories including: FIA Formula 2, FIA Formula 3, Formula 4, EuroFormula, International Karting and new-for-2023, the Formula 1-backed Formula 1 Academy Series for competitive female drivers.

The pathway for Alpine’s young drivers to reach the pinnacle of motorsport is clear as they embark on a journey to make a name for themselves in the various realms of motor-racing. For BWT, the mission is mirrored alongside Alpine, where both companies seek to make another big step forwards in committing to innovation and technology to become a game changer in the sustainability of the sport.

In line with its announcement to support the Alpine Academy, the striking livery of BWT Alpine F1 Team’s Formula 1 car – the A523 - will transfer to all nine young drivers for their respective 2023 campaigns. BWT’s pink colour is not only eye catching but stands for an attitude geared towards the future: to Change the World – sip by sip!

In addition to its iconic pink colours, BWT is pursuing its mission of providing water for all applications, whether perfecting quality direct from the tap, through a water dispenser or through table water filters. With the innovative, patented BWT filter technologies, local water is filtered and at the same time enriched with valuable minerals and trace elements such as magnesium, zinc and silicates. This saves the transport and associated CO2 emissions, as well as the storage of disposable plastic bottles. The Alpine Academy will also be equipped with the company's products so that all nine drivers can enjoy tasty, locally-produced, mineralized BWT drinking water straight from the tap.

Lutz Hübner CMO of BWT:  "We are very happy to extend our partnership with BWT Alpine F1 Team to the Alpine Academy. We see great importance in the various junior racing categories in nurturing the team’s young talents and we are proud to be a part of this journey. We are also excited to provide the teams with our filtration technologies so they can perform at their best both on and off the track through our mineralised water."

Otmar Szafnauer, Team Principal, BWT Alpine F1 Team: “We are delighted to progress our already fantastic partnership with BWT to the Alpine Academy. This year we have an increased intake on the programme with nine drivers in total, five of whom will compete regularly during the Formula 1 race weekends. Not only will our young drivers benefit from the use of BWT’s expertise in hydration, but they now also have the opportunity to represent the colours of both Alpine and BWT to match that of the Formula 1 team. It’s an exciting extension to our partnership and one of which we are exceptionally proud.”
