2024 Alpine Academy Bahrain Report – a challenging weekend in the desert

Five Alpine Academy drivers lined up on the grid in Bahrain with the return of FIA Formula 2 and FIA Formula 3 on the Grand Prix support bill last weekend.

Victor Martins (ART Grand Prix) and Kush Maini (Invicta Racing) began their sophomore seasons in Formula 2. Kush secured his first points of the season, moving up 15 places to finish seventh in the Feature Race having started at the back of the grid after a technical infringement saw his Thursday pole position taken away. Victor finished 11th in the Sprint Race, struggling for grip on the soft compound tyre. He did not finish in the Feature Race due to an issue with his car.

Gabriele Minì (PREMA Racing), Nikola Tsolov (ART Grand Prix) and Sophia Flörsch (Van Amersfoort Racing) all returned to Formula 3 in Bahrain. Gabriele secured two points finishes, claiming seventh in the Sprint Race and sixth in the Feature Race. Nikola showed strong pace over the weekend, securing a fourth place finish in the Sprint Race to claim his first F3 points of the season. Sophia finished 23rd in the Sprint Race and 30th in the Feature Race.

Practice: 29 / Qualifying: 25 / Sprint Race: 23 / Feature Race: 30

Victor and Kush will return to the track in Saudi Arabia for Round 2 of FIA Formula 2 whilst Abbi Pulling will make her 2024 debut in Round 1 of F1 Academy.
